Welcome to Kenya Bullfighting and luhya cultural safari. This safari takes you to the heartland of the Luhya community in Kakamega Kenya.It begins with a visit to Lake. Nakuru Game Park a Bird paradise in Kenya. You will then be driven to the North of the country to visit Lake Baringo and Bogoria the only hotspring in Kenya. You will then visit the tea growing town of Kericho then Kisumu city on your way to Kakamega.At Kakamega the famous Kakamega forest will be beckoning with its 3000 species of birds and butterflies and small animals. You will get time also to briefly visit the crying stone,one of the major attractions at Kakamega,before going down to the village for a Bullfight match and a Luhya cultural experience!
Bullfighting is a traditional sports practiced by the Luhya community of Kakamega Kenya for generetions. The game is normally held at the village sports ground where owners compete for given prices that may include money. Its normally accompanied by merry making and Cultural music from the famous Isikuti drum.Other attractions include the traditional Luhya foods expecially the mouth watering Chicken,prepared using traditional herbs and normally served with Ugali a lump prepared from Corn flour!

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1; Nairobi Nakuru: Arrivals-You will be met at the airport by our staff.
you will then be driven to Nakuru town. If you are lucky,you will catch a glimpse of the Great Rift Valley at the view point. Dinner and night at a Nakuru hotel.

Day 2;Lake Nakuru; You will enjoy a game drive to at Lake Nakuru National park, where you will get to watch thousands of flamingoes feeding in the waters. You will also visit the Rhino sanctuary which is dedicated to protect the endengered species. Other animals include; the cape Buffaloes,Monkeys,Baboons,Warthogs,Girrafes,jackals,impalas e.t.c.
You will take a tour of Nakuru town later in the evening and have time to buy some local artefacts to take home to friends and family.

Day 3;L.Bogoria & L.Baringo-You will wake up early for a safai to the two Lakes after breakfast. At L. Bogoria,you will watch some game,and birds. But most important you will get to see the hotsprings and boil some eggs just to prove that its real! We will then drive to a neighbouring L.Baringo,a fresh water Lake where you mingle with the local community,the Njemps. You will enjoy a boat ride to one of its seven islands,and meet an eccentric family that lives by themselves and own it. You will buy the local handicrafts made by the local women groups. Later we will visit the Reptile park and view some snakes and Crocodiles. Night and dinner at Baringo.

Day 4;Kisumu-Kericho-Kakamega-An early morning drive to Kericho town, a tea producing area.We stopover and enjoy the spectacular view. A stop at Kisumu town, a brief visit of the Great East African Lake the proceed to Kakamega town for an evening walk in the Kakamega town which has over three thousand birds species,monkeys e.t.c. Dinner and night at Rondo Retreat Kakamega

Day 5;Kakamega-Wake up very early in time to catch up with the villages in a Bullfighting match down at the village. Take Beakfast with them at the village. Interact with them and listen to their songs and stories. You will enjoy a Luhya traditional meal which will be followed by a farewell party and finally departure.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
